FSMB Education Services provides educational tools and resources that enhance the quality of medical regulation and raise public awareness of the vital role of state medical boards. 

The FSMB works to identify, develop, and implement CME activities that address content areas that include medical regulation, licensure, discipline, and advocacy and policy to promote public health, safety and welfare.

Events

Upcoming Practitioners Diversion Awareness Conferences (PDACs)

In an effort to educate practitioners on current trends involving pharmaceutical controlled substances including the potential of controlled substance diversion, the FSMB recently partnered with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to develop and host live continuing medical education (CME) activities for licensed physicians and physician assistants.

FSMB Roundtable

The FSMB Roundtable is a program of monthly conference calls that facilitates communication among member medical and osteopathic boards and FSMB staff. The calls are sponsored by the FSMB and the agenda is developed with input from member boards. These calls provide regular opportunities for member boards to communicate among themselves on current issues, public policy and legislative trends.

2019 Tri-Regulator Symposium

On Sept. 26-27, 2019, in Frisco, Texas, join members from FSMB, NABP and NCSBN to discuss opportunities for interprofessional cooperation and the challenges facing state medical, nursing and pharmacy boards. The Symposium is invitation-only. For more information, please contact edu@fsmb.org.

SCOPE of Pain Live Meetings

The FSMB and the FSMB Foundation recently collaborated with the Boston University School of Medicine SCOPE of Pain program to provide in-depth training to practicing clinicians on the potential risks and benefits of opioids for managing acute and chronic pain. The training includes the assessment of opioid misuse risk and recognition and treatment of opioid use disorder.
